THE BOOKWORM SOFA - thursday edition's top 5

LEARNING TERMS IN LEISURE AND STYLE
I missed my geography class and its principles for a while so here are the words. Enjoy :]

1.) Bayou - sluggish, marshy stream linked to a river, lake or gulf.
" Let's take my old boat out on the bayou for some fishing."

2.) Fissure - narrow crack in a rock's face.
"Clawing frantically at the nearest fissure, I tried to pull myself up the cliff."

3.)Berma man-made maound or wall; is a level space, shelf, or raised barrier separating two areas. Berm is a loanword from Dutch.
"If on the way home, you must walk along the berm at the top of the dike, please be careful."

4.)Canyonor gorge is a deep ravine between cliffs often carved from the landscape by a river
formed by a process of long-time erosion from a plateau level.

5.)Glacier - rivers of ice that move very slowly. They can take a year to move as far as you can walk in a few minutes.
